Whether you choose to gather in a church, chapel, sporting club or restaurant, there are a number of local venues available to host a funeral or memorial celebration of life. We will work with you to find the best location to help honour the life of your loved one in a manner and setting most befitting them. Below are some of our partner venues, and we are always looking to add to our list:

Venues available during Covid Safe protocols

Bunurong Memorial Park, set within contemporary Australian parkland and conveniently located midway between Melbourne and Mornington Peninsula, provides state-of-the-art function spaces for honouring and remembering your loved ones.

 

This purpose built, unique facility offers several non-denominational chapels where secular and non-secular services can be conducted with large private areas attached for families and friends to unite and share experiences over refreshments.

 

Purpose-built for the community to enjoy, there's a modern alfresco cafe, children's playground, distinctive art pieces and walking paths that help you experience its vast beauty. Bunurong is an inspiring place of remembrance, designed to meet the needs of the community now and into the future. 

 

Bunurong can safely and comfortably accommodate up to 20 funeral attendees indoors and 30 outdoors.


BYS Covid-19 Funeral Service Restrictions

 

Blairgowrie Yacht Squadron is the perfect venue on the Southern Peninsula – for holding a dignified farewell – particularly during Covid-19 restrictions.

 

The club can safely and comfortably accommodate up to 20 funeral attendees indoors and 30 outdoors.


For families wishing to share their loved one's service online by utilising Live Streaming, this beautiful venue provides a suitable backdrop for a fitting tribute to anyone who has a love for the Mornington Peninsula, and most particularly for those with an affinity for the bay.

BYS Southern Waters Room

 

On the first level, the Southern Waters Room offers the idyllic location to host an end of life celebration.

 

With stunning views over Port Phillip Bay and the new marina, the Southern Waters room provides abundant natural light with glass doors opening to the large north-facing deck.

This function room can (when social distancing restrictions end) accommodate up to 150 guests. (Currently 50 guests indoors)

Mornington funerals

Located in the hinterland of Safety Beach, surrounded by palm trees and overlooking a picturesque golf course, the New Atrium has two function rooms with seating up to 50 guests
at this time.

 

With plenty of parking, it's a suitable local setting to farewell a loved one – especially during these difficult times.

Rosebud Italian Club is an ideal venue for larger family funerals during Covid-19 social distancing protocols.

 

The club was established in 1984, for the benefit of its members but also welcoming all guests.

Indoors, the club can  easily accommodate up to 20 attendees with chairs spaced to meet current Social Distancing rules.

 

With a pleasant atmosphere and plenty of parking, it's a suitable local setting to farewell a loved one – especially during these difficult times.

Affordable funerals Mornington Peninsula

The world-class Springvale Botanical Cemetery is widely regarded as Australia’s most beautiful cemetery, with 169 hectares (422 acres) of landscaped gardens.

Established in 1901, Springvale Botanical Cemetery has continued to offer generations a peaceful and private setting to celebrate the life of loved ones.

The Southern Metropolitan Cemeteries Trust (SMCT) is a community based, not-for-profit organisation, committed to serving the needs of our communities. They are responsible for other cemeteries including Melbourne General Cemetery, Brighton General Cemetery, Cheltenham Memorial Park, Cheltenham Pioneer Cemetery, Dandenong Community Cemetery, Sorrento Cemetery and St Kilda Cemetery. Funerals Mornington Peninsula

The Bayview Chapel in Rosebud, with a usual seating capacity of 250, is an ideal venue for funerals in our region during this time.

 

The chapel has excellent sound and visual display facilities, including the ability to create a DVD recording of your service. The auditorium and multi-purpose foyer are fully air-conditioned and wheelchair accessible. A hearing loop is available for those requiring assistance.

 

Bayview Church is located at 1 Inglewood Crescent, Rosebud (just off Jetty Road and a short distance from Peninsula Link). There is plenty of onsite parking.

Venues currently unavailable due to Covid Safe protocols or renovations

Dromana Bowls Club is our most local venue for small family funerals.

 

The club rooms can accommodate up to 20 attendees with chairs spaced to meet current Social Distancing rules.

 

With a pleasant atmosphere, plenty of parking and bay views, it's an ideal alternative setting to farewell a loved one. Video recordings and live streaming available.

 

 

Safety Beach funerals

The new facilities at Safety Beach Sailing Club are among the best on the bay.

The clubhouse is right on the foreshore with 180 degree views of the surrounding mountains of Arthur’s Seat and Mt Martha. Recent redevelopment works have increased the comfort aspects of this highly sought after venue which make it the perfect location for a celebration of life service.

 

Safety Beach Sailing Club is usually very well equipped to host funerals for meaningful farewells in familiar settings – ideal for beach and bay lovers alike.

 

Live Streaming and DVD recording of funerals held at Safety Beach Sailing Club provide family and friends who cannot attend the service, the opportunity to experience the event in this beautiful setting.


Mt Eliza funerals

Located off a quiet street in leafy Mt Eliza, The Ranelagh Club is the ideal 'midway point' to cater for family and friends travelling from both Melbourne and the Southern Peninsula.

 

The function room is perched high on the cliff, above a very isolated and private beach, featuring panoramic views across Port Phillip Bay and city skyline.

 

 

The venue has the capacity to usually hold 150 people and can be hired for an entire funeral with catering options to follow, or simply as a wake venue following your church/chapel service.


Rosebud funerals

Funerals, wakes & memorial services are a very difficult time for family and friends. The desire to farewell a loved one with dignity and grace is priority number one, and organising a wake or life celebration is not often top of mind.

 

The professional and caring staff at Rosebud Country Club understand that the organisation of a wake or life celebration is often done at short notice, and that predicting the number of guests can be difficult.

 

They offer a range of catering options and will work with you in a flexible manner to take the stress out of the process. RCC can accommodate up to 250 guests in their versatile private rooms, which offer direct bar access and beautiful views via floor to ceiling windows overlooking the fairways. Mornington funerals

Benitos have a lovely space to hold your loved ones funeral service – with leadlight windows and respectful staff.  Staff will be guided by your funeral director to ensure all arrangements are as you have chosen and carried out in a dignified and personal manner.
 
Their space has natural light and a terrace area overlooking gardens in which light refreshments will be served following the service. Benitos is an ideal venue in Mornington / Mt Eliza region in which to hold your loved ones funeral service and after service refreshments.
It is fully licensed and has a large private car park.

Situated in the heart of the peninsula, Mornington Civic Bowls & Social Club is particularly favoured by its superb location set in picturesque gardens away from the madding crowd.

 

The Clubhouse is available for funerals and can accommodate around 250 people with ample parking available.

 

There is a commercial kitchen and licenced bar facilities.
